A Thousand Flowers for You
|
|
A thousand flowers for you a thousand glowing stars for all you have given me though they cannot be seen with eyes, or
touched by hands, your precious gifts have taken up residence in my heart there, like crystals of purest color, they grow
and flourish. A living legacy of you.

It Lights up the Whole Sky : Hafez
|
|
Even after all this time......the sun never says to the earth: you are indebted to me...Look what happens with a love like
that....it lights up the whole sky.
Quotation from Hafez, a great mystic from the Middle East

Eili, Eili
My God, my God, I pray that these things never end,
the sand and the sea, the rush of the waters,
the crash of the heavens, the prayer of the heart,
The sand and the sea, the rush of the waters,
the crash of the heavens, the prayer of the heart.
These beautiful words are from a poem by Hannah Senesh, the national heroine of Israel. As a young woman, Hannah volunteered
to be parachuted down behind enemy lines in Nazi occupied Europe, only to be caught within a few days, and tortured, before
she was executed. She left behind some beautiful poems, of which this is one.

Imperfect
|
|
Imperfect
Beaten by the forces of wind and sand, storm and rain, ravaged by time
Yet surprisingly the life-force within me still rises,
Still looks forward to fragrant blossoms and better times, brilliant sunshine and turquoise skies.
Even with my imperfection, with quiet anticipation, I await wondrous sunsets.

I Call on You
|
|
I Call on You
Angels of light-
Angels of Peace-
Messengers of healing and hope,
stay with me
surround me
in my time of need.
May Michael be at my right hand-
May Uriel be at my left hand-
May Gabriel be before me-
May Raphael be behind me-
And above my head,
the Divine Presence
to guide my steps.

Red Slippers

Red Slippers
Let us tread softly but surely
Keeping our own quiet counsel
Drawing on our own sound judgement
Listening to the voice within our own heart
Listening to ourselves, trusting ourselves
Becoming the whole person we were meant to be.

Rabbi Alexandrai's Prayer
May it be your will, O our God, that we be allowed to stand in places of astonishing light, and not in dark places
And may our hearts know no pain
And may our vision not be so clouded
that we would not see
All the blessings of Life that you have given us.
