Within The Sheltering Presence
|
|
For a spiritual leader
Within the sheltering presence of the Lord
May you lead with grace and dignity
May you encourage study and faith
and acts of loving kindness
May you inspire hope for the future
and promote tolerance for others
May you explore paths of peace
May those who come to you in need
Leave uplifted, with rekindled sparks
of joy in their hearts.

For a Rabbi
Within the abundant worlds of who you are
There are so many places to travel
and so many versions of what is seen
You are the mouse lost in the minute
Particulars of a seedling
You are the eagle as it soars comfortable
with the vastness of the earth
Beneath its wings
You are the man int he middle plane-
You are the Rabbi holding the torn fabric
of life-not to mend it, not to conceal it, But to grieve the truth and to celebrate-crawling and soaring and standing
in the stillness of the in-between
We thank you for inviting us beside you
Alone we might not have the ingenuity, audacity, humility or courage,
But with you it is a peasant's dance learned from the mouse-and the eagle
We all can try.

The Priestly Blessing with Multicolored Text
|
|
The Priestly Blessing
This was a blessing that was given in ancient times, and it is still being given to this day in many places of worship,
Christian as well as Jewish. It is really nice to give someone a blessing in appreciation for the good things that that person
has done.
May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the light of the Lord shine upon you
And may the Lord be gracious to you
May the Lord be with you and grant you peace.

Let us tread lightly but surely
Keeping our own quiet counsel
drawing on our own sound judgement
Listening to the voice within our heart
Listening to ourselves
Trusting ourselves, then moving forward
sharing our own special light with the world.

My Dear Friend

|
|
You are my dear friend,
The one who has a
Listening ear and a
Caring heart.
The one who shares with me
Joys and sorrows.
It is my good fortune
To have a friend like youl
You are an irreplaceable part of my life.

Forever Young
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
May you stay forever young

The Most Beautiful Gifts (with lilac flowers)
|
|
The most beautiful gifts, the ones you give to me:
That wisdom of yours that comes with the years
That clear vision of the world
Those words full of insight,
compassion and understanding
That support -and all that
Love, unconditional, life sustaining.
The most beautiufl gifts are the ones you have given to me.

A thousand flowers for you a thousand glowing stars for all you have given me though they cannot be seen with eyes, or
touched by hands, your precious gifts have taken up residence in my heart there, like crystals of purest color, they grow
and flourish. A living legacy of you.
