Healing Prayer
May the One who blessed our ancestors,
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca,
Rachel and Leah, bless and heal you.
May the Holy One in mercy
strengthen you and heal you soon, in your
body and soul.

Blessings for you:
On your journey
through life
may you be wrapped in

May your spirit soar

May your heart stay
Pure and steadfast

Original Poem
Steeped in the ancient words
and cadences of my forefathers,
I enfold myself in five
thousand years of their profound wisdom
In my ears, I hear the many
prayers of those gone
before me.
Some words spoken in whispers.
Some words spoken in reverence.
Other words broken, torn,
mingled with the harsh salt of flowing tears
My ears hear them all.
I feel more and more the
enveloping warmth of the tallis,
supporting and comforting me.
I am one with my heritage.

Hatikvah
|
|
Hatikvah ...The Hope
This is the national song
of Israel.
As long as in the heart, the Jewish spirit
yearns, with eyes turned eastwards,
looking towards Zion, then our hope,
the hope of two thousand years is not lost
To be a free nation in our land
The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

Tallit Blessings
Blessed is the Lord, our God, ruler of
the Universe, who hallows us with
Mitzvot, and teaches us
to wrap ourselves in the
fringed tallit.

These tallit prints were created to honor my father, Sidney Konig. He was a quiet, gentle man, and he was raised in a religious
home. This was his tallis, his prayer shawl, and it is one of the few material items I have left of him. The rest are memories.
So I have used my father's well worn tallit as a background for these songs, prayers and blessings. I think he would have
liked that. I hope that I have grown in a way that would have made him proud.
These artprints look their very best, their most dramatic, in the matted 16"by 20" size.
