Paths of Pilgrimage
|
|
The night has ended. Put out the light of the lamp of your own narrow corner, smudged with smoke.
The great morning which is for all appears in the East.
Let its Light reveal us to each other who walk on the same Path of Pilgrimage.

Twenty four Hours
|
|
Waking up this morning, I smile
Twenty-four brand new hours before me
I vow to live fully each moment
and to look at alol beings with eyes of compassion.

The day is now ended. Our lives are now shorter..Now we look carefully...what have we done?
Let us be diligent, Let us live deeply, Free from our afflictions, Aware of impermanence, so that life does not drift
away without meaning.

The Perfume of Sandalwood
|
|
The Perfume of Sandalwood, Rosebay or Jasmine, cannot travel against the wind.
But the fragrance of virtue travels even against the wind
As far as the ends of the world.
Like garlands woven from a heap of flowers, fashion from your life as many good deeds.
From Dhammapada

Blessing Chant
Just as water flowing in the streams and rivers fills the ocean, thus may all your moments of goodness, touch and benefit
all beings- those here now and those gone before.
May all your wishes be soon fulfilled as completely as the moon on a full moon night. May all dangers be averted. May
all disease leave you. May no obstacles come across your way and may you enjoy happiness and long life.
May those who are always respectful, honooring the way of the elders, prosper in the four blessings of old age, beauty,
happiness and strength.

Look at the past with eyes of quiet reflection.
May you savor the accomplishments, and remember the experiences, both joyful and melancholy, that brought you to this
day. May you be satisfied that you have grown into the person you are today.
Look at the present with eyes of determination. May hope and courage guide you, may truth and compassion be with you,
as you deal with life day by day. Do the best you can, be easy on yourself, yet hold fast to your dreams and work towards
them. They will surely unfold in time.
Look at the future with eyes of joyful expectation. Be ready for the wonderful opportunities that life will present to
you. May the love of family and friends surround and sustain you. And may the wisdom you have gathered continue to guide and
comfort you as you journey into the future.

Imperfect
Beaten by the forces of wind and sand, storm and rain, ravaged by time
Yet surprisingly the life-force within me still rises
Still looks forward to fragrant blossoms and better times, brilliant sunshine and turquoise skies
Even with my imperfection, with quiet anticipation, I await wondrous sunsets.
