Within the Sheltering Presence
|
|
Within the Sheltering Presence of the Lord
May you lead with grace and dignity
May you encourage study and faith
and acts of loving kindness
May you inspire hope for the future
and promote tolerance for others
May you explore paths of peace
May those who come to you in need,
leave uplifted, with rekindled sparks
of joy in their hearts.

The Rabbi Within the abundant
worlds of who you are There are so many places to travel, and so many versions of what is seen. You are
the mouse lost in the minute particulars of a seedling, You are the eagle as it soars comfortable with the
vastness of the earth beneath its wings You are the man in the middle plane~~ You are the Rabbi holding
the torn fabric of life~~ not to mend it, not to conceal it, But to grieve the truth and to celebrate~~crawling
and soaring and standing in the stillness of the in~between.
We thank you for inviting us beside you alone we might not have the ingenuity, audacity, humility or courage But with you it is a peasant's dance
Learned from the mouse~~ and the eagle We can all try.

The Priestly Blessing
This piece, done in Hebrew, depicts the Priestly Blessing of the ancient Hebrews which is still used in Judaism in our
times. It is a blessing that the High Priest, Aaron, bestowed on his people. It is used at very special moments or for very
special people.
May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the light of the Lord shine upon you,
and may the Lord be gracious to you.
May the Lord be with you and grant you peace.

Boy's Traditional Blessing
This piece is intended for boys, the blessing itself is used on Shabbat and also during a Bar Mitzvah experience. Ephraim
and Manesseh were the sons of Joseph, who was the son of Jacob, who was the son of Isaac, who was the son of Abraham.
The use of the light blue band is suggestive of a prayer shawl.
May the Lord inspire you to live in the tradition
of Ephraim and Manasseh, who carried forward the life
of our people.

The Traveler's Prayer
May it be your will, Lord, our God, and the God of our forefathers, that you lead us towards Peace, turn our
footsteps towards Peace, guide us towards Peace and make us reach our destination for life, gladness and Peace.
May you rescue us from the hand of every enemy, ambush, bandits, and evil animals along the way, and from all
manner of punishments that assemble to come to earth.
May you send blessing in our every handiwork, and
grant us grace, kindness and mercy in Your eyes and in the eyes of all who see us. May you hear our prayers
because You are God Who hears prayers and supplications.
Blessed are you, Lord, Who hears Prayer
